Fresh Fallen

Fresh snowfall and early morning light near White River, Mt Hood Wilderness, Oregon, January 2011. This image was made a few hours after Winter Majestic I was drawn to the diagonal layers in this scene and I really like how it turned out. The fresh snow really makes the trees pop IMO.

Nikon D7000, 50mm Nikkor 1.8, polarizer
1/13 sec at f/16, ISO 100

I like the cool tones of this shot, conveys the cold feeling very well. The composition is great and the frosted trees are stunning. I also like the different layers of textures and shadow. Nice work.

Another beautiful winter scenic, Scott! You certainly followed the
rule of thirds here. I like the texture and details in the trees.

Nice, Scott. There's really nice texture in all these layers, even the snow.

I also really like the layers here, very effective comp! The deep blues feel a bit too heavy for me, i think id prefer more whiote or cyan for this scene, since its obviously a few hours outside the magic hour.
