So sorry about my lack of participation. all the posts have been the usual fantastic. Well done everyone :toast: . This is a rainy day in Georgia kitchen shot using some new flash equipment, so I am looking forward to all comments and critique.

Bob: Looks like the lighting is right on the money. Perfect whites on my monitor and a spot on exposure. Very nicely done.>=))>

Nice use of flash...something I haven't had the nerve to try and learn. Bill's using a nice new computer so his info is probably more reliable than mine but on my 6-year-old monitor the whites on the outer petals have a noticeable blue cast...perhaps that is the color for this flower....

Hi Bob :wavey: The light from the flash is very evenly controled :jump: The detail and color of this rose is delightful, No big deal, but im also curious about the blue cast on the edges of the petals??

Really nice flash photography. I'm not seeing the blue cast mentioned by some of the others.

Beautifully done Bob and I'm not a real fan of flash. This certainly looks good to me though. The petal textures are just superb as are the whites. A very fine looking rose.

Bob:
Excellent exposure on this white rose. No hint of flash. Like the darkened leaves.

Love the high contrast, Bob - how the whites stand out so powerfully against the bg and how the leaves are cast into deep shadow. I have always been put off flash by the widespread prejudice there seems to be against it ( and I guess it can be crudely used ) but this image makes one think again. A real beauty !!
