This is a photo of a pink rose blooming wide and a bud. Edited and enhanced simulating abstract art and watercolor pencil techniques.

Very nice Eve. The vignetting works well with this image.

An eye-popping image that really grabs my attention. I can't say that I find if particularly attractive, however. Despite the artistic filters applied, it retains so much fine detail that it looks to me more like an ultra high contrast photo than a painting or pencil drawing. However, please consider the source of the comment: I am just a scientist and photographer who knows nothing about art! I guess I just appreciate "softer" interpretations of floral scenes.

Eve, I think you've done a really good job in photographing this scene and I like your more judicious use of the vignette. But I have to agree with Wayne that this looks more like a realistic high key photo than abstraction. In my opinion, I think you either have to back off the brightness and go for the realism, or maintain the bright color and ramp up the abstract effects.
