Summer Fields

Well, taking a break from the ice and snow, I went back to this series of shots I took in June. It was a beautiful sunrise, and I wanted to see if my processing in Elements would help sharpen what I captured. I had posted a similar photo to this called "Daisy Sunrise" back then and was not using PSE.

There is still some lens flare, but I think it is a definite improvement over what I previously posted. I also tried to make sure that all daisies were in the frame, and not cut off--an obvious thing that was pointed out to me in June! C&C me! 1/50th, f-22.

Great back light on the flower pedals here, Bill. A wonderful take on this open meadow scene.

Really good job handling the flare and i like the sunstar - it adds alot to the image. One spot in the middle just above the flowers looks a little funky - very minor - don't know if there was some cloning done there or not - i'm probably just seeing things. Anyway - great shot!

Nice shot Bill; one of your better comps IMO, and very nice sunstar. I do think the post processing could be a little better and really make the image POP, but this is still very nice as is.

Thank you for the comments. Wade, I don't think you are seeing things. In the image I posted last summer, there was no lens flare. In this one there was, right where you mention. So I'm sure there are some remnants of my cloning.

Agreed Bill C., this is definitely a few steps better than my previous, but it can still use some work for sure.

Bill,

A lovely image; cheery and actually kinda uplifting as in what a fresh way to start your day. Nice capture. No nits here.

Lon

ps. lens flare is minimal and I had to go look for it.
