I took this early on. I got to the spot late and as I exited my car I saw this Skimmer make a pass through the tidal pool.I thought I had missed any oppertunity but then noticed him comming back. I grabbed my camera, turned it on, and took four shots of the pass. The sun was wrong_ iwas too high- -the settings were as I had left them previously but the resulting shot has been given away or sold more than many others that I am much more proud of.

Hey Dan, I like this a lot! The red beak, the reflection, the slanted angle of the water line where he skimmed--I think this is good!

I really like this. Love the comp and angles. Plus, his orange bill draws me right to his reflection!

Great timing, Dan. I'd like to have a skimmer action like this in my files. :toast: :wavey:

As i said to Barbara (to paraphrase) a great moment caught 'poorly' is better than a boring moment caught perfectly.

Sometimes luck is better than skill. Clearly one of those times. Nicely done.
