After much anticipation, my amaryllis finally bloomed last weekend! Here is the first take on this beautiful flower. The bg is a brown bath towel; I thought it offered a nice texture. All C&C welcome!
Thanks for looking,
Anne

(I don't have a good light set up inside and it was too blustery and cold to try it outside)

Excellent dof and the color is wonderful. Your lighting works fine imo. This makes the amaryllis look big and proud, which is just my impression of them. :toast:

Beautifully done Anne and I think you bg works perfectly. I particularly like the light in this.

Very nice Anne. I might have clipped off that little brown leaf or whatever it is but that's just me. Well done. :toast:

Anne: Beautiful flower in prime condition. I especially like the light dusting of pollen and the comp. If this were mine I think I would clone away the piece of bud sheath and I would crop it from the bottom to 4:5 ratio. For me there is just a bit too much stem. I often use towels as BG so I like this one. Nicely done.>=))>

Excellent composition and beautiful colour tones, Anne. Love the counterpoint of the upwards turning stamens and the down turn of the front petal.
