Its a bit busy around the Smith house hold of late. When you have a month old baby and a just turned two year old life gets a bit hectic. I am working in the basement trying to finish off a new spare bedroom a computer/crafts room and a play area for the kids and helping my wife with the kids does not leave much time for photography, so when I here the words you should go out and take some pictures I grab my gear and run

With the lack of snow up here until yesterday and on the weekend there have been these cool ice formations and weird lines in frost(i think) seemed like a natural lead in and I just waited for some interesting clouds to show up. The nice light was robbed from me do to some clouds on the horizon(always the same story)but I knew this was gonna be a Black and White from the get go.

Canon 5D 17mm iso 100 single exposure processed twice for two different B&W conversion, blend with TK's mask also D&B with TK's mask.
C&C welcomed. Cheers

Fascinating frost! Excellent use of lines, and the conversion with it's contrast enhances the drama a lot. Nice work!
I pity you your life with two small ones. Well, not really. When you have children, it's all good. But, it is stressful with 2 that small.

Very interesting shot Raymond. I really like the b/w conversion with this. You knew it was going to be that and it worked out great. Nice work! Sure hope you get a little time to shoot now and then too.

Textures here are fantastic, Raymond, and the B&W emphasizes them perfectly. It's really quite a stunning image with a strong artistic flair.

Hi Raymond , yes I have two but mine are old enough to raid the fridge if I am caught up in the details of a flower shoot!!! It will go so much faster than you know. Mine are 8 -12 and it only feels like I have been a parent for a few years maybe. There will be may photo opps I am sure you'll just have to work on portraits for awhile!!! Cheers

Raymond,

Congrats on the family addition and no doubt it's nice to get out of the house for a break. Been a few years, but I remember those times...

The patterns in the ice actually remind me of the patterns and phenomena at the Racetrack in DV. I'm sure the details in the little ice crystals is amazing, but it's really difficult to show that detail at this web size. But I can imagine.... I may be tempted to crop about 1/2 the sky simply to draw more emphasis to the patterns on the ice and the crystals. Just a thought.
