Loved the lush textures of the mossy banks that line the pool below Koosah Falls in Oregon. 4 sec @ f/10; 105mm; ISO 100; 24-105 m f/4L; tripod; cable release.

This is really sweet, because at first glance it almost looks like amacro shot of moss and water, but then you make out the coastline. Sweet post Craig.

Balan, Kurt,

This image will provide some perspective, perhaps. I was more concerned with the foreground here, but you get an idea of the pool below the falls and the mossy bank on the opposite shore. I shot Below the Waterfall about 25-30 yards from this location. Thanks for commenting,

Craig

Ok. where is the coastline? I am an Oregonian and I had to google this falls. It's a good image at any rate. The softness of the long water exposure harmonizes with the soft texture of the moss. Moss in the forest can be amazing to walk on and even photogenic. This seems almost hdr.

RL,

I never said anythng about a coastline. I posted the second image to give more of a sense of perspective for those trying to make sense of the zoomed and slightly cropped close-up. Whereas the reference image is HDR, the oriiginal post is not.

I have to agree with Balan and Kurt on this one. I think like the picture most because of the way it plays with the senses, as it relates to scale. I originally thout the thumbnail was a very distant, dense tree covered coastline (think S. American rainforest) and then when I saw the picture, I was convinced it was. Then I read your description and had to look again and saw it from your perspective. I imagine it would be a little difficult for you to experience the same sensation since you have intimate knowledge of the image and the location. Nonetheless, i like the shot and the texture in the moss.

Interesting scene--mainly due to the question of scale that hs been mentioned. The bright urhc is a tad distracting--dont know if its worth a crop. :wavey:
