Osprey with Trout

While at a small city park near Fullerton, California, I was pleased to see that there were two Osprey working very small lake. A local indicated that the lake had been stocked with trout two days before. I missed the dive and catch but I did get this one as the bird flew by my position. Crop shows 50% of original to enlarge bird and I tried to give him room to fly into. I sharpened this some and hope I did not over do it. I am working on my post processing skills and have a long way to go.

Comments are appreciated.

Hi Harry: Very nice capture. Bird position looks great. The fish is certainly an added bonus and is in a great position. I'd push the exposure up on this image as the image is a little underexposed.

Cool catch. Looks pretty good and I don't really see any evidence of over-sharpening. Agree about bringing up the mid-tones. He looks like he's using the fish for a skate board

A great capture, even the fish is posing perfectly for you
Well done.

In my last few posts, the comments have indicated that the image is too dark. I have been sensitive to burning out the whites in my images so I have tended to set my compensation in the negative area. I am reposting this shot after reprocessing and increasing the exposure in LR3. Feed back would be appreciated. I feel the repost looses detail in the fish but the Osprey is a lot better.

Great action capture. Love the fish, and that you can see the eye on both bird and fish. For me, the best exposure lies somewhere between the original and the repost. :toast:

Nice Harry. I like the repost better. Nice job on the exposure of the bird and fish.
