Coyote in Yellowstone

I was fortunate to find a cooperative coyote in Yellowstone National Park. I had lots of light, so I stopped down to f16 to try to capture some environment.
D90, 300f4, 1/250, f16, natural light, beanbag on car window.
Comments and critiques appreciated.

Nice combination of foreground and background contours, Dan. Little America?

I love the wintery setting with the deep pristine snow, I agree with f16 to show the environment. You might consider brightening the coyote a little bit to make him stand out even more. This is a beautiful photo, well done Dan!

Very nice capture Dan, good decision with the aperture choice to show the scenic view.

Dan, I love this as posted. Great decision to stop down to f/16 and bring that BG fog into the shot. It sends this one over the top for me.

Wonderful habitat shot Dan and I like that the coyote pops out so well. I do find the rock in the FG on the left a bit too prominent. If it were smaller, less of it included or not there at all this would be improved IMO. :toast:

I'm with Vincent - I find that FG rock a bit too intrusive. There does need to be something over there to keep the composition balanced, but I'd probably prefer something that's just a little less in-your face. Otherwise I think this is fantastic.

Hi Dan,
This is a beautiful shot!!
However, I would dodge the rock in the foreground a bit - make it the same colour white as the snow on the right/in the middle - I think that will solve the problem of it being 'too prominent'.

I really like this as posted, Dan. It's interesting how the rock in the foreground first grabs myr attention and then I see the coyote. The exposure here is excellent. I find snow difficult to deal with. You did a great job. :toast: :toast:
