The light wasn't great, but I didn't care. :jump: After 10 years of never seeing a peregrine up close, I've now photographed 2 in the last three months. I have a feeling I will find this individual again and there will better light, a lower angle and the perfect pose of course.

I kind of like the way it's checking out it's wing here.
Canon 40d, 1-400mm IS, ISO400, f6.3 @1/800 + 2 stops, minor crop.

Nice pose, well handled light, good details. Always awesome to get a Peregrine on a natural perch!

The light might not be perfect, but I like that lifted wing to let us see a little detail underneath. A perigrine in the wild-must be delighted.

Nice shot Dan. Did you just happen to go through the Sacramento Valley recently? I have seen a peregrine several times in the same tree the last couple of winters near Willows. They are regal aren't they?

Great find, Dan. I'm sure you'll find it again. I like the head turn. If it were mine, I might take a touch more off the bottom. :toast:

Dan, I like the interesting pose, with the raised wing and overlapping toes. difficult light is well-handled. I'd be very happy with this.
