Lions crossing Ruaha

Taken in Tanzania August 2009. This was the first photo I was proud of and taken before I was really into photography (and probably got me into it), I was in two minds to post as this photo means a lot to me, but I am intersted in what you all think.

Sunset and a pride of Lions crossed the Ruaha River in a perfect line. It was a breath taking to behold. Taken as two photos and merged as a panorma in photoshop. full frame.

C&C as always welcome

The composition itself is really good but its a tad over-saturated making the colours look a bit gaudy. Looks like the tree have acquired halos during the blending process as well.
Lovely capture though

I can see why you got excited about this one Phil it must have been a great sight. Is that a Goliath Heron behind and was the water really that blue?

Simon, yes a bit too cooked I agree. I Think this is better? Got rid of the halos

Bob, Yes I think it is a Goliath Heron and thre is a fish eagle as well, can you spot him? It was a really glowing sunset making the colours very deep but I do struggle to get the colour balance quite right at times

truly excellent image i think the scene pretty much speaks for itself but the composition certainly helps, stunning setting and light, colours are a bit saturated but if that is how the light was leave it like that, it certainly gives the image impact
