Reedbuck in the rain
by Ajit Huilgol
The common reedbuck is a medium-sized antelope distributed abundantly throughout southern Central Africa. It requires areas with tall grass and reed beds, and the close proximity of permanent water.
I had mistakenly identified this as a red lechwe, but was corrected by Vincent Grafhorst in a personal communication. My thanks are due to him.
Species: Common reedbuck (Redunca arundinum)
Location: Botswana
Date: Nov, 2010
Equip: Canon 1D Mlll, Canon 500 f4
Specs: ISO 400, f4, 1/1250s, beanbag on vehicle
Thank you for taking the time out to look, and for your comments/critiques.

Btw, as per IUCN, this is a "least concern" species, not at all endangered :), we are ok.

I really like the mood of this. The soft colors of the palette really make this for me. Nice find and even better capture. Well Done.

Happy new year! This is one very sweet image - nice colour, really nice isolation of the subject from the soft background, love the raindrops, sharp where it should be sharp, etc. Very nice!
Cheers...looking forward to more great Ajit images in 2011!
