California Thrasher

While walking in the back areas of the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine, California, I spotted this bird. He allowed a couple shots with the light almost behind him and even stayed while I moved my gear to a better lighting angle. Wish I could have go a clearer back ground but he gave me a pretty good pose. I enjoyed looking up a new bird. Just a little sharpening. Crop shows 50% of original.

Nice detail and exposure, Harry. The angle is a bit steep, but there's not much you can do about that except wait for next time. :toast:

Nice look at a species I have never seen. The angle is not "ideal" but still very natural and pleasing. The two branches behind the head and beak are a slightly unfortunate as they are similar in tone and color to the bird itself. Still an impressive photo! :toast:
