Osprey and Catch

Was talking with Don McDonald(npn member), in the Everglades when this Osprey flew past next to the canal. Then about a quarter mile away it dived (like at the speed of light) and then got airborne and came back clutching a fish.

Nice Wayne. 1/8000s sure froze everything. Sharp from stem to stern. I like the far wing position and the nice angle coming at the camera. Well done.

A brilliant capture, Wayne. I do have a question. When you are sharpening, what sharpening technique are you using?

Thanks,

Carol

What a shot, Wayne! No nits from me on this one. Just a very fine BIF complete with prey. :toast: :toast:

Very nice - especially in the larger version. I wish my lowly D200 could produce an image this clean and detailed at that ISO.

Great capture. Lots of detail under the wing and you can see the talons clutching the fish.

Great shot, lets see, you were shooting away while I was standing there with my mouth hanging open going "did you see that" and my camera was sitting on the truck seat.

Nice capture Wayne! I like what I see, but am wondering why the ISO 1250 and 1/8000 ss? I might have toned this down myself to ISO 400...looks like you hasd plenty enough light to still produce at least 1/1250 SS with that ISO, which still would have frozen everything and got even better detail (even though it is sharp now). Maybe I should be using a higher ISO myself on sunny days and am not understanding something, so thought I would inquire.

Excellent work, Wayne. This is one of the finest Osprey shots I've seen in a long time.
