Compression is a killer, please check out larger version.

Taken at Big Bend during the great fall color show in Zion National Park this year.

Happy New Year!

Canon 7D, ISO 100, f/11, 1 sec.

The colors are stunning. Great title. Very apt.

One suggestion on the crop: You might try cropping enough off the bottom to get rid of that one area with no color. I wonder if that would be even more powerful - the whole image filled with those beautiful colors and textures.

Justin, this wonderful photo is all about the color and texture, which by the way are incredible!. The LLC is distracting , so crop it! :-) :wavey: :toast:

Compression the enemy indeed in a photo of such fine detail. Personally, I like this as is. :toast:

Sweet shot - but the bottom grey area did keep pulling me over... Love the detail in the larger version!

Justin,

This is beautiful! The colors are super and even more I love all the tree trunks adding some structure and interest to the scene; especially the trunk of the green tree up top and the larger tree on the right. Oh, and the reds too - great collection of color.

Have to agree about the gray patch at the bottom. Not an image killer, but you might consider doing something with it. Or not...

Wonderful dense color. I also like the contrasting cooler colors in the branches in the shadows.

wonderful color pallete. I was thinking initially there wasn't much of a focal point, making it more of an abstract. After looking closer, it still has an abstract quality, but I think the upper left white trunk does provide a focal point, with a nice counterpoint with the dark bark on the right. Nice work - I like it!
