Yerllow Mountains (3)

Hi Folks, Happy New Year!

Another shot from my recent Yellow Mountains trip. During my one week stay in Yellow Mountains, I only got one day to view mountain ridges with a great clarity, while most of other days it was very foggy. So I thought this picture is interesting to illustrate some feature of Yellow Mountains. But I am not sure what other people think. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

I like the unique shapes of the mountains. On one hand the air quality would probably dissuade me from hanging this on a wall, it also helps in creating depth with those mountains receding in the background.

Wonderful composition, Yan. I like the compressed layers of mountains that fade into the distant sky. The detail is excellent, but there seems to be a little haloing going on. Very nice tones though, might be a nice b/w as well.

Yan,

Wonderful layering here - it especially shows well in the larger version. Color is a little too blue for my tastes and I do wish the earth's shadow coloring was a little bit more visible. Both those are fairly minor points as this is certainly a grand view and very nicely captured.

Don't know that I've ever seem these from an "overlook". The layering is very nice.

Hi Folks, Thanks for your comments.

David: Thanks for point the haloing issue, I need to take closer look at that.

Lon: I should include more lower part into the frame to show a complete line of pine trees in front of mountain ridges, which probably would add a bit more extra features to this image. Thanks for your comments.

I think it's a great layered landscape! I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of the tree along the bottom.

I like this photo a lot! Splendid layered landscape, and a beautiful blend of colors. The large version makes more justice to this very detailed image...

Yellow mountain is a majestic place. I like the layering and subtle colors of this photo. However, there are haloing on the edges. Did you do HDR?

Hi Jim, thanks for your comments on this photo. I didn't do HDR. I am not sure if these are haloing issues, or might result from my post processing.

I really like all the layers here. Has so much depth and the hazy blue color looks pretty nice to me. I could see a little more of the trees on the bottom also. Looks like an amazing place!
