My autumn images are slowly coming to an end. This one was taken the morning following the evening when I made the ISO change on my light meter. So this photo was underexposed by two stops and had to be pushed processed. Processing it in PS was a bit of a challenge, but I feel it came out nice. The detail is overwhelming in the slide and I have tried to retain as much as I could in the web version, even the Larger Version does not catch it all.

Its in an area that I don't think many photograph as it was hidden in among trees and I would never have discovered the area had I not seen a glimpse of color deep in. I wandered for quite some time among the dense trees trying to find a composition.

4x5, f45, 4 sec, 150mm + 81C & 81B filters Pushed 2 stops.

Your thoughts much appreciated.

The large version is very beautiful. Is this Provia? It must be contrasty pushed 2 stops.

The push processing probably increased the contrast some and it's working very nicely here. I really like the comp and the detail in the larger version is very sweet.

Youssef: Great find and a superb comp and capture. Post some of these in Flora from time to time. Our motto is If it grows, it goes! and these are certainly growing. Wonderfully crafted image.>=))>

Youssef,

I really like this arrangement and combination of the ponderosa trunks and autumn color filling the frame.

Dan and Tony mentioned high contrast, but I don't see it. In fact I would say the trunks themselves actually lack contrast? The colors look good though.

I'm a little unsure about the twigs and stuff at the bottom - but your signature kind of adds to the confusion as well, so I can't really decide if I like the bottom or not. The only suggestion I have though would be to clone in some leaves to reduce the bright patch on the left. But that's not a real big deal.

Love the intimate autumn scene from Yosemite Youssef. I'm getting down to my last ones as well.... Guess it's time for another trip. I'm just waiting for that next snowfall.

This is real nice, Youssef. I might be inclined to crop the bottom above the dead branches, but YMMV. Sweet colors.

Really beautiful, Youssef. The different elements are all playing well together in this composition. The fine branches at the very bottom are a nice touch.

Very nice, Youssef. It doesn't look too contrasty to me, despite the push-processing. I'm curious about the use of both an 81b and 81C. That's a lot of warming! Do you use a color temperature meter or is that a combo you use frequently in shade? The greens look natural so it looks like a good choice, but in my neck of the woods it would almost always render the scene too warm.
