This morning I was at the Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area just south of Scottsbluff, NE. This image was taken about 15 minutes after sunrise. The light was really sweet.

Magic hour is a bit longer in winter and this is really warm colorwise. While I like the pano, could see adding a bit more sky and maybe cropping the butte on the right.

.Needs more sky on top. Pretty scene though... Time to clean your sensor, Richard

Good to catch the sweet light. My monitor colors and contrasts are sadly lacking these days. However, it appears on my monitor that this could use more contrast and more saturation. There are also many dust spots in the sky. The smaller version could use a little more space above the cliff.

When I see a sky like this I do the same and make sure it's cropped because the subject isn't the sky.

Gorgeous bluff! Have you tried different white balances here? It seems a little too warm to me, which gives the sky an odd hue, but then again, I wasn't there  .

Richard,

I like the warm light here. I still might even process this a little further, perhaps slightly darker and with more saturation? Not much, just enough to give this a little more punch.

Totally understand about blank skies, but compositionally the space above the bluff is important too. Personally I would rather have a bit more sky so the image seems "comfortable" rather than cramped.

Ditto on the sensor dust bunnies....
