Thought I'd share an image in this forum from a trip to Hawaii a few months back.

I'm always fascinated by the abstracts created by getting in really tight with flowers.

Canon 50D, 100mm Macro 1/60 @ f/2.8, ISO 100

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it (and need it)

Abstract macro photography is probably my favorite genre and this fits the bill....love the mix of colors.

Keith: Great selective focus and frame filling fantastic colors. Really well done. May 2011 bring you great subjects and even better light. >=))>

Great detail Keith and a gorgeous color palette. I think it would work well with a little tighter crop too but that's an alternative and not a suggestion. Post these over here anytime you'd like. (smile)

Well done, Keith. I like the angle and DOF. Only suggestion I would make would be to add canvas to the top of the image. I think this would provide the illusion that the viewer is looking down on the flower even more.

Happy New Year,

Carol

I like your shoices on dof and pov! I would look at a crop just above the dark area on the bottom and the colors would really sing! Beautiful!

Ooooo, yeah! That's shallow! I think having all of the yellow circles at the top in focus would've been a plus. The colors are good and I like the dreamy mood.

Gorgeous image! Great color and the shallow dof works really well.
