This will be the last of the leafs pictures. Thanks again for the feedback on these. I'm already looking forward to autumn 2011.
Like my two previous posts, this image was also taken in Zion right near the parking lot for the Narrows hike. I'm under no illusion that this wasn't set up by a photographer before I arrived, but as one excellent photographer once told me when creating the perfect arrangement: "It's found light for the next photographer."
I can't claim much originality with this image. Guy Tal had the first
image that I saw of autumn leafs on this oily water, and I've been looking at these pools ever since. I couldn't find Guy's image on his website until this morning, and processing-wise, I think there is some difference.
Your thoughts and recommendations are always appreciated and frequently incorporated into the final image. Thank you.

32 commentsIts a co-incidence that you bring up Guy's "Liquid Gold" photograph. I was at his gallery last Saturday and that is the one I ended up purchasing.
Warm regards.

i suggest to increase the contrast on the leafs
wish you all the best in 2011

This is wonderful! And the repost is a bonus with the slight upgrade in color. I love the arrangement and also that the oils are a little more subtle here; the transparency allowing the colors and shapes of the rocks below are wonderful too.
I wouldn't have guessed that this may have been previously "arranged." Looks quite natural, and of course very beautiful. I great find and capture Tony. I don't think you have to worry about comps and visions when you step outside your rock box...

Simplicity and beauty at the same time. A great photo for a very nice wall.
