Cloudy mountain + repost

Hey everyone!

Haven't posted anything in a while. Been busy with school. Been seeing some awesome shots as of lately on here. Here is a recent shot I took this morning of the winter storm that passed through AZ. Saw these clouds hanging low near the mountains and decided to ditch work and head over there. I was hoping to get a long exposure, but the clouds weren't moving as fast as I wanted. Oh well. Let me know your opinions on this, as I am not sure if I like it very much. Appreciate the help!

Canon 5DII
f/18 at 30sec(Used a 9stop ND filter and a polarizer to get the long exposure at midday)

Thanks again!
-Chikku

The drama here is unreal... Way to make the most of the midday.

Great drama but may need to lighten up the dark areas a bit.

You've really pushed the contrast for a dramatic mono scene here, Chikku, and I think it has potential. However, I wish it was a little less for the land. This might have been a good place for some subtle fill flash to brighten the bottom half of the fg plant and bring out more detail. Perhaps, though, you can bring some more out of what you've got.

Chikku, I saw your image on earthshots yesterday, congrats! The use of B&W in the canyons was a very good idea, very creative. This is also a nice image, I do agree with the other comments that the dark areas need a bit more detail

Thanks guys! As per the suggestions I have brought more details to the darker areas. Let me know if this is any better.

Go, Chikku! This is an awesome image. Really raises the low desert scenery to a new high. Incredible light and drama that you brought to a midday scene.

The repost is killer Chikku. I really like the contrasty mood you have. The foreground has a great luminous quality about it too. Cheers
