Flame Colored Tanager
by Keith Bauer
This female Flame Colored Tanager was photographed in Costa Rica in the Savegre Valley. She landed on this perch and posed for a few seconds before taking off again. It was pretty wet and as you can see, her feathers were a little matted down (especially on the head). The background is simply distant trees.
