Seeing a baby rhino is certainly a treat. I think the contrast here between muddy youngster and dry adult is great. Perhaps due to the size of momma, the image seems a bit heavy to the right, so I could see a tiny bit cropped off the left side, but overall I don't mind the centered composition.

Ken,
This is awesome, the dry/wet look makes it appear as if the calf has just taken birth and is facing your camera soon after.

I like the protective posture of the mom, the space all around and the eye pleasing sharpness.

Great lighting on both mother and calf, and love the wet, muddy youngster. This is definitely not a newborn calf, though.

HI Ken,

I really like the contrasts here - big/small; dark/light; wet/dry; facing left/facing right, etc. This one has a lot of visual interest for me (and I suspect a lot of others). Technically the image looks quite solid as well.

Well done - thanks for sharing this one!

Cheers...

Well Done Ken! Really love the contrast between mom and calf and the way they are framed in the shot.
