Taken on the Gulf coast of Florida not long before sunset. I love the pinks against the blues.

D200, handheld, laying in the sand on the beach, f6.3, 1/800, ISO 250, 80-400mm VR at 400mm, natural light, cropped vertical from a horizontal. Larger version provided.

As always, I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful critiques & comments on my images. Thank you for looking.

gorgeous, Mia. pose, comp, colors and light are all perfect. I'm making my first trip to Florida in March--I think my head may explode.

Excellent! That distinctive bill is in just the right position for the pose and I love the colors and light Mia. Great IQ and the interest the spoonbill is showing you is palpable in the larger version.

This is so worth looking at the larger version. In the larger version this is so clear and so up close and personal.

Your patented look Mia. Great light and the detail on that wonderful bill is just super. Pinks, blues, and that eye. What more can you ask for.

excellent, Mia. My only suggestion is to brighten this about half a stop.

Very nice Mia, nice pose and comp and good detail. I agree lightening it a tad with the levels adjustment would make it even better.

WOW, that's about all I can think of saying. I like the slightly sombre mood of the low lighting at this time of day, very pleasing as is. This species alone would be a reason to head south to Florida I think.

Wonderful, inquisitive pose!
Great colors - the blues and pinks - and detail is perfect, as always!

Good pose. (I think spatula for some reason when I see their bills.) But this pose displays all the features of this bird at once. I'd brighten just the subject. Let the water diminish even more than it is. As usual you've got plenty of detail going on.

One of the nicest photos of a stationary RSB I have seen! I like the subdued lighting on this and would leave it as is. Super image! Sharon

Mia,
I recognize excellent sharpening, a very nice composition, and dead on exposure. Thanks for Sharing

All very nice, but I particularly like this subtle light that seems to come from the body of the subject, as in a picture of Rembrandt .

Really like the composition Mia allowing the reflections. That beck looks a bit heavy to keep carrying around. Gorgeous evening lighting really makes a big difference to the image. Graham
