Brought out the color and details in these rocks found in something of a nook along the Olympic Coast of Washington. Would appreciate your thoughts on this.
4x5, 210mm, warm polarizer, Velvia 50. Flatbed scan, Tony Kuyper's remarkable masks.

Large image provided. Detail maybe better, compression maybe not better.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions, comments, thoughts, ideas.

Vance,

The detail is astonishing. It feels like I can just rub the monitor and get a good back scratch. I really like the variety of the rocks.

This is all about contrast, shapes, colors, textures, it's got a wide range of everything and there's a lot to explore here. Excellent.

Man, Vance there is soo much imagery in this. Let me explain what I see.....
In the extreme upper middle there is an eye of a raptor type bird. Wings tucked forward as if maybe guarding the (blue) eggs beneath. A sort of "Guardians Nest".

Fantastic Best rock abstract I've seen in a while

Yowza! You may have "brought out" the color, but it looks totally real and very beautiful. I really like the contrasting colors. It takes a lot of skill, I think, to work the computer as good as the camera. You do them both very well and this picture is a fine example of that. Well done!

This rocks! It really is very 3-dimensional.

As Tony said, 'Yowza!'

Vance, this is truly an excellent image all the way around. With that said, from the original capture, to processing, and then the post processing, all of it came together extremely well.

Wow very nice. There's a lit of unexpected depth to this - foreground, midground and perhaps most interesting the background rocks and their wonderful textures.

This is lovely, so well seen. You have taken a very simple subject and brought out the complexities and dimensionality of it all. I am appreciating the jumble of stones at the bottom and the blues are particularly pleasing.
