Nice low angle, and proper exposure. The bird is cooperating with a nice pose as well! The first time I saw this species, I could not believe the markings!

Beautiful species and I like the preening pose. I might crop in tighter because you have the sharpness and maybe a bit of CCW rotation. :toast:

Mike, really nice pose!
We both got good Harlequins! wonderful ducks..
Needs a bit of CCW rotation.
With this pose, I 'd suggest leaving more room on the right - the direction the bird is "facing". Seems better balanced that way -

I agree with Sandy on this one Michael. I would not crop in much more given you are already at only 35% of the original.

I'd move the duck to the left of the frame also. Great low angle.

Excellent shot. I'm envious at your correct exposure, since I have a bunch of images with blown out whites. Hoping to try again this weekend. They are great ducks and your's has such a natural pose. Nice work. :toast:

I like the pose a lot but if you have it I would include quite a bit more room on the right and less on the left. Nice exposure. :toast:

Lovely details and pose, Mike. A bit tighter for presentation on the web (for me), but this composition works for a print - hey are a hard species to get close to.
