My time in the sun.

I caught this Columbine this last summer along the Chicago Creek drainage here in Colorado. Just trying something different for pov, comp, and lighting. It seemed to be enjoying it's time in the sun. I know I was.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

I really like this Morris! You certainly used the lighting to your advantage! The shadows add a sense of depth to this, and great job retaining all the detail!

Creative, original comp Morris. I also like your dof decision and the bg separation is excellent. A very fine image for my tastes. No suggestions.

Morris: I'm missing Colorado. The only part I've visited the past couple of years has been DIA on the way to somewhere else :frown: . This shot makes me want to be there. Marvelous comp and lighting. Good vision, good photography.

Beautiful image, Morris! I love the light falling through the petals, they look so thin! :toast:

Great choice of dof, Morris, to give just a certain definition to the petals and achieve a sense of the flower opening, it seems to me. Beautiful !!

A different approach to a Columbine, Morris. Well done. I like the criss-crossing diagonal lines formed by the petals.
