Crawling

Wandering around Bishop Creek this past fall I stumbled upon this scene. It immediately struck me as an eerie B/W image. Unfortunately I didn't have any B/W film on me so I had to convert in photoshop.

Any comments appreciated.

Good idea, Jason. I like your creativity here. Ultimately, I find parts of those roots a touch too bright but this concept is great.

Thanks Daniel. I'm finding that viewing the jpg online in IE or Firefox it has much more contrast than locally. I don't do a ton of the BW stuff so I think I need to find the proper settings.

I think you have a done a good job of high lighting your subject matter Jason. The vignette and darkening the background have done a good job. The high lights look a little strong, but just by a bit. I really enjoy the leaves through too. Cheers

Awesome image Jason. I love the limited DOF and it really does feel like IT is crawling at you.

Interesting comp. I'd've walked right by this for sure. The blurring and light are very effective here.

A very intriguing and creepy shot Jason. Looks like a skeletton hand. Kudos for creating something very original from such a humble subject.

Jason,

Long time no see, and we missed you in Yosemite!

This almost looks like you used Harley's Verito. The selective focus and shallow dof really work well in this scene. As does the b&w processing and vignetting. This is indeed pretty darn eerie, I might even say creepy, but in an effective and positive way.

Excellent job all the way around with this one. Nice to see a post from you.
