Cotton Candy Sky

Sunrise view over the dunes of Inverness Beach, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. BTW - Sunrise is to the far right out of the frame. The clouds reminded me of cotton candy. The bending of the dune grasses shows the strong winds blowing in off the the ocean.

Thanks for looking. Thanks for for any comments or critiques.

Eva, been loving this series of images of Inverness Beach. Will have to go back and revisit it. Haven't been there since a kid. Next year is it. All the images have been fantastic. Great light in all.

Ah wow Eva. This might very well be my new favorite of your photos. Nice web sharpening too.

Wonderful comp and light. ULC seems a bit dark, but certainly isn't at all bothersome. Gorgeous image.

Oh, this is nice, Eva! I really like your composition, the tones in the water, and the color of the clouds. There appears to be a white halo at the top edge of the far ridge. Some may submit that the blue of the sky is uneven and should be fixed, but it works for me, and is what I would expect opposite the sun at sunrise.

Well done!

Clouds are very pretty Eva, especially with the warm light mixed in. :toast:

a very solid image, Eva. I admire your ability to nail the exposures in a single frame with your expert use of reverse grads, especially in these days of blended exposures so commonly used (myself included) - largely a lost art, I would say.

Very strong composition Eva. I like the layering and the grass at the bottom right corner. The sky and the clouds are of course a big asset too here. I also like the slightly higher vantage point you have here. Often your images are taken at the ground level, here you seem to be a bit higher. This gives a nice "overview" effect from which the image benefits imo. Very good as usual Eva!

Beautiful low hanging clouds with some lovely colors Eva. The larger version gets me involved with the elements. Well done with this place.

I love the tension created between the horizontal line of the water and the vertical lines of the clouds. Add to the mix the great color and this image is really nice.

Nice clouds. Almost looks HDR. Needs more grass on left side for a stronger foreground.
