We've had some exceptional weather recently which has also produced exceptional light at times. This was taken perhaps 15 minutes after sunset today and the sky was uniformly pink. You are looking at the edge of an open cast mine, waste heaps covered in snow. The subject appears to be some sort of mechanical equipment relating to the mine. I presume it is laid there randomly, because it isn't normally a place where one thinks artistically. I was struck by the lines and shapes they created. Amazing how nature can transform a place!

Interesting find. Very graphic and the sky/snow combo sets it off nicely.

Good eye on your part. I imagine this scene is more of an eye sore than anything under normal conditions. The snow and pastel sky really have transformed this landscape and you noticed. Kudos. :toast:

Very cool shot with abstract qualities. The pinks and white colour scheme is lovely. Wish it were a bit sharper though.
