At dawn, a bonsai pine is silhouetted against a distant sandstone wall in the high country of Zion National Park.

Welcome to NPN Barbara! Great take on this little pine, I love the near silhouette and the golden background.

I believe something went wrong in the posting, though. Make sure to post at 720 pixels or less on the widest edge, and under 300kb, otherwise some weird resizing things can happen, which is what I imagine happened here. You can repost the image in a comment in reply to this topic.

Barbara,

Welcome to NPN and the ES&S Gallery!

This is an excellent silhouette, unfortunately it looks pretty blurry. Not sure what happened because I viewed your excellent website and sharpness and web presentation is excellent on all your images. so I'm wondering if you posted the wrong version? This just does not look representative of the work you have posted on your site. Hopefully you can repost - you can do that simply by replying to your own thread here OR, if your image is hosted on your own site, just replace with the correct version.

We're certainly glad to have you here and look forward to more images and your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to post them or send one of the mods a note.

Welcome!

Lon

edit. Floris beat me to it! I did find the image on your site and that one certainly looks like I would expect. Here is the link for much better version.

Barbara, I am seeing the same thing as do Floris and Lon. I really like the shape of that tree.

Welcome to NPN! :toast:

I really like the silhouette also, one can really get into the shape of the pine. Would love to see a repost, or will look on your website. :wavey:

Welcome to NPN Barbara. Ditto the blurriness, but obviously that's just a computer issue since your website is so nice. The composition is excellent, shadow detail looks very nice, and the gnarled tree is a great subject.

Ok, everyone, thanks for the feedback! I am going to try to get the sizing right. I usually post 1000 px at 64 (that's what I do on my website), so I will try to get this figure out! I have lots of images I would like to share, so I certainly want to figure this out! Thanks for all the help!

The re-post looks great! Good use of the light to catch this silhouette.
