White Anemone

A friend of mine gave me dozens of these white anemone plants last spring. Even with our very hot summer, our plants grew to over 5 feet high. Here is the last anemone before our snow showers hit this afternoon. Hard to believe that it's early December and I still had these lovely flowers. Unusual for us here in Western North Carolina.

Camera is a Nikon D70, handheld, no special filters.

As always, comments and critiques are most appreciated.

Barbara: When this first opened I thought it was a lensbaby shot but on closer inspection I can tell its not. The center is a bit soft but this looks like a processing issue to me and not a problem with the capture. I like the comp and subject a lot. I also like your whites. Nicely done.>=))>

Very nicely done Barbara. I might sharpen the center a little and/or play with curves in LR or PS to make this pop a touch more. Excellent whites mgt and good composition. I like the image as posted.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I appreciate the suggestions very much. I've gone back into the image and worked with it a bit, but I just couldn't get the center to look right, i.e., to make it crisper. It tended to look too unnatural. So, for now, I'll leave it as is; I rather like the painterly look. It's not to say that I won't try again.

Your critiques are always taken to heart. Thanks so much for viewing.
