Old Man Craggy

This is a photograph that I made a couple years ago when I first got serious about nature photogrpahy. The reason I post it now, aside from the usual solicitation for C&C, is because I just set up my own website and am getting a little nostalgic about where I started and how you all have helped me navigate the photography learning curve thus far (still have a long, long way to go). I wanted to say thanks to everyone on NPN, especially those that were kind enough to give their feedback on my posts. You can't imagine how much it has helped me.

Please feel free to check out my website and submit any C&C on the look, feel, etc...or just contact me through my site. The obvious deficiency you'll notice is with the volume of photos. I'm sure there are others out there like me, but given that I'm a relative noob in the field of photography and I have a young family (6yr old girl and 2yr old boy), it's hard to fill that darn thing up with quality photos. It used to be that I could only get one photo that would pass muster every 6-7 times I would go out. I'm hoping that as my skills progress I'll be able to get at least one photo that will eventually make its way into a gallery on my site. Enough rambling.

Thanks again! :wavey:

The craggy old tree is certainly a worthy subject for a photograph. Your work here is wonderful, Joseph. The mist enhances it all the more.

Beautiful and eerie at the same time. Good depth to the scene and nice rhodies! You have a good start on your website.

This is beautiful. I can feel the cool, moist, woodsy air.

Hey Joseph this image has some great elements, the gnarled tree, azaleas and of course some wonderful misty light.

I had a quick look at your website and think you're off to a great start

For whatever reason, Joseph, this image looks way better on your website. On the index page it has much better color saturation. Wonder why that is. On your gallery page it looks the same. I like the image, but the extra saturation on the index page is preferable.

A very interesting scene. There is a lot going on here but it works. I'd be templated to crop a little off the bottom but it's fine.

I think this is a wonderful image, Joseph. The tree is just fantastic and your composition is excellent. My eye just wanders around the image and everything is so interesting!
