African fish eagle
by Ajit Huilgol
Just came back from a lovely trip to Botswana organised by Vincent Grafhorst, moderator in the Fauna section. This image was made from a boat on the Okavango Delta, and attempts to show the spectacular colours of the African fish eagle
Species: African fish eagle, Haliaeetus vocifer
Date: Nov 2010
Equip: Canon 1D Mlll, Canon 300 f 2.8 lens
Specs: ISO 400, f 7.1, 1/2500s, hand-held, from a boat
Thank you for taking the time out to look, and for your comments/critiques

Just perfect and those birds are HUGE
Not the tiniest nit from me!

There's some lovely detail in the bird.
Well done.
Geoff.
I may prefer to clone out some flying insects between bird and tree.

Outstanding pose and wing position, great background, light, sharpness and detail. Looks like it was a great trip!
This is the image I dreamed about when first visiting Africa. This is stellar, I barely have the words to describe how amazing this image is for me. WOW, WOW, Simply stunning in every way. Congrats!
