I love that flight posture Sandy and the habitat inclusion is wonderful. I also enjoy the similar colors in bird and setting. The reds in the cap seems pretty intense to my eye.

Love the habitat and the colors all working together in this shot Sandy. Bird is in a nice position too. The high ISO and possibly larger crop (just a guess on the crop given no data) has/have reduced the detail in the bird in the larger version. Reds and lighter parts of the head are a bit bright, but those are easy fixes. Overall a very pleasing image.

Nice flight capture. I might clone out the old flowers in the RUQ as they pull my eye from the bird's eye - a minor nit. :toast: :toast:

Hi Sandy: Very nice flight pose and a great background for this guy. As noted, the reds feel over saturated, but something else is odd. The colors in the larger version are different than the colors in the smaller version. I like the larger version better. I'm guessing that the two images do not have the same color space embedded in them. I can't tell on the smaller version, but the larger version has the sRGB color space embedded. I'm guessing the smaller version is Adobe RGB?? Can you verify?

Sandy,

Love the great pose, the sweep of the wings, golden light and the setting. I like the repost better because the reds have been tamed.

Even in the small thumbnail it is an attention getter and gets better as it gets larger.

Very pleasing image. Love that yellow light. My only nit is that the head might be a little soft.

A cool action shot, Sandy; really nice wing position - excellent timing and I like the expression on the crane's face.

Red on the head, brown on the wing tips, blue under the eyes, and dark feet.... I love the color contrast and SS that freeze the action tac-sharp; background blur adds to the color contrast for me. Small nit – are the seed heads below your subject – I find them slightly distracting but not sure what you could have done differently. Great capture - thanks for sharing.

I agree that the original post is a bit over-saturated, but the re-post is very nice. The head may be just the tiniest bit soft.

I like the pose and this looks awesome for ISO 1000 on the D300, though I'd like a little more detail in those feathers
