Night Fake #1

This photo was inspired by a recent viewing of the movie "Contact", specifically, the scene where Jody Foster is on the beach under an incredible sky. I like the idea of combining a daylight-lit crystal blue ocean, with a night sky. Since I'm not an astrophotographer, the best sky I could come up with is a shot from last fall, where I caught some subtle northern lights. I combined this with a beach shot from Naples, FL.

thanks David! Just checked out your photo art blog and I love it. I just found a shot from last spring that had some nice evening storm clouds that begged to be added to the shot, so here's tonight's revision.

This is very effective. It does look like a night shot. I Iike the moon reflection in the LRC.

Tim,

Well put together. This really works well. I might rotate your foreground about a degree or so CW. The horizon appears to fall off to the left a bit. A very inviting scene!
