Same buck from last week's Weekly Challenge entry, taken in heavy fog last weekend. Assuming I did the math right, this is 42% of the original image, much less than I would have guessed. 7D, f/8, ISO 400, 1/125. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Very ghostly! Like the way the deer is just visible through the fog.

Another really nice, foggy buck photo, Rob. I really like the mood the fog creates.

The mood is indeed lovely Bob. My first thought was that I would have preferred much more room (negative space) around, particularly to the left. Seeing this is a heavy crop that is still an option  .

Hi Rob,

No doubt that this is moody! I'm with Vincent in thinking that I'd prefer more room all around in this image (it's not all dependent on extreme detail - which can be a driving factor in closely framing/cropping an image.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Thanks for the input, everybody. Here is a less tight crop. If I change to a 3:2 instead of 5:4 ratio, there is still a little more room to the left. Either ratio keeps putting the head almost dead center though; it that a problem?
