Found this pond along the Owens River on the east side of Bishop, CA, hoping for a nice reflection of the Sierra, didn't work out that way. So we went back for sunrise and hoped for a sky with wonderful clouds, didn't work out that way either. Oh well, do the best ya can, taken mid October. I believe the prominent peak in the middle is Mt. Tom, correct me if I'm wrong.

No Reno your right that is Mt. Tom, sometimes things just don't work out the way we hope. So when they do we must give thanks, however we can increase of chances for that hoped for image with experience and thoughtful planning, but we can't discount luck. Increase the odds by going out as often as you can. Despite the looked for image this is really nice well composed and youc an't beat the mountains around Bishop as your backdrop.

The river is constantly moving there enough to kill a reflection so it's nice to see a good reflection from this pond Reno.

This works quite nicely too, I think. Nice strong foreground and the the color on the mountains is very nice.

A beautiful shot, Reno. Excellent light, and I love the combination of colors between the grass, mountain and sky.

Beautiful composition, with each segment full of its own interest from fg to bg.

I wonder if you also took it in horizontal mode, if the mountain range extends.
