Of course it works ... works very well !
Great eye contact, low angle and moving straight into the camera !
I may try to control reds here.

This most certainly works! The pose with the raised paw really is great as is the eye contact. Would prefer some less red though  :toast: :toast:

I like this very much for the expression and chiseled face, as well as the gesture of the lifted paw. Detail at this sized posting seems nice and crisp. Your background control is nice, too. Although I know that lions adopt human roadways as convenient walking paths, it would have been nice if somehow you could have found an angle or situation that eliminated the evidence of man's handiwork.

On another note, I notice you are fairly new to NPN in terms of numbers of posts. One of the things that will make it easier for others to offer suggestions is for you to include the specifics of your equipment and settings for the image capture. Without that fellow NPN viewers will only be guessing on how and why for a given result.

Also, although it is not a requirement, NPN guidelines suggest that for every photo you post, comment on at least 5. It is the give and take interaction that makes the galleries so viable and valuable! New posters are sometimes unsure how to say something about the work of others, but it is really pretty easy to note what you like about an image and if you see something you would change or experiment with, mention it! You can also take a look at "The Art of Image Critique" found in the drop down menu at the top of this page under instruction.

Thanks for sharing an excellent image and I look forward to seeing more of your captures and hearing your reactions to others!

I'd like to see a bit more space around the cat but as it is it works for me.

It works very well for me, Keshav! The eyes and the movement in the front leg make this image. :toast:

@ all: Thank you very much for your encouraging feedback and critique. Regarding the red, I have not enhanced it and was wondering myself if there was an error. But confirmed it with what my wife had got in her camera and she too had it the way I did.

@Lon: Thank you for the link. I did know about the rules but was kind of sceptical to give feedback as I don't consider myself too good to offer critique. It was more like testing the water phase for me. :-)

I'm sorry to have flouted the rules. Will surely be keeping in mind that the idea is to share opinions.

An excellent, and not that reassuring, eye contact with a predator... Very nice image.

Like the vert comp and the nice color. Like the little bit of red on the teeth as well.

Keshav, please don't think I was berating you as a rule breaker. The guidelines are suggestions, not rules. One thing you will discover, however, is the act of actively offering critique will sharpen your eye when afield! That is a big bonus.

Further, I checked out your website. You are clearly an accomplished photographer, both technically and artistically. The NPN galleries provide opportunities for learning from one another and you have much you could offer! Your expanded participation will be greatly appreciated by me and many others! Again, looking forward to seeing more!
