When you get past the iconic granite formations, and waterfalls, this is Yosemite. At least to me, it is. Some water, some trees, and rock. I hope it all comes together in a nice arrangement. Hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts.

D200,
18-70mm,

Thanks,
Chris

This looks very Lon Overacker to some degree. Very nicely done. The elements work great together.

Wow, great placement of the elements. I love these intimate scenes from places that have been photographed to death. The small image does not do this justice, definately must view the large version to appreciate this wonderful scene. Superb work, Chris. :toast:

Beautiful image, Chris. The granite looks a little greenish on my monitor, but very minor. Excellent job of capturing a unique view of the valley.

Another gorgeous image, Chris. I find your composition exquisite with wonderful color. The dark trunk and branches of that one tree to left of center, and its reflection, adds a great graphic element to your image. Beautiful work.

Ah a vertical composition from you - we do not see that too often. Love the composition - very dense and rich in structure and pattern. The reflection of the dark tree trunk looks particularly great - how it fades into the near fg. Your "signature" image, but also your "signature" cyan cast - very noticable in the granite wall in the upper right.

I think the arrangement does work Chris, it's quite an intimate scene but with some depth. I also like the leaf litter in the water, it adds to the very natural looking landscape.

Very nice intimate (for Yosemite, anyway) scene! Makes me want to head back there this spring! Well balanced composition and nice Fall colors. To my eye, I'm seeing a greenish/cyan cast to the image. Especially the granite in the background. Other than than, a very pleasing image. :toast:

The larger version really shows the intimacy in the image. I like this alot because to me it shows as you say what Yosemite really is...a natural wonder for walking, hiking and enjoying the outdoors there. Lovely, Chris.

Awesome comp, Chris. Really beautiful. I also see the green cast, at least on the valley wall rocks, but it's just about perfect otherwise.

Another really sweet shot Chris. The pool of water with the reflections and leaves makes a lovely foreground. I noticed the green cast on the granite immediately however; blue seems the more natural cast.

Well, I thought this looked pretty good. I also thought those of you that commented on the green cast were mistaken. I was wrong about that. I didn't see it until I made some adjustments. Then it was very obvious, so thanks for pointing it out. I'm not sure why I don't notice it sometimes???? Here's a repost, better??

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

I could have sworn I commented on this, but apparently I didn't. Wait, we already looked at this on your camera when were chimping after you captured this.

And I have to tell you, that this looks a heck of lot better now than it did on the little LCD! This is a beautiful image and just another example of the gazillions of opportunities there are in a park that's visited by 4million people a year!

Great balance of elements here, from the reflection, to the forest and autumn color and also the background granite wall. The color balance looks a bit more natural on the repost, but it also looks like you lost some contrast or something at the same time. I would say take your second effort and drop the shadows and/or mid tones about a 1/2 or so.

But regardless, you have yet another wonderful image to add to your Yosemite Portfolio.

Chris,

Sometimes it's hard to see the granite for the trees. Beautifully calm, peaceful, colorful image of the intimate Yosemite. Love the floating leaves and the gravel bottom of the pool.
