Country Roads.......

Its been forever and a day since I posted anything but I have some new photos I'm working on so I thought I would share them with you all to get some constructive criticism. Its been a while since I shot anything and I'm a little rusty.

This is early Fall along Falling Water Road near the Richland Creek Wilderness in Arkansas. It was early morning and there was just a hint of fog along the creek and road. The sun had just popped over the canyon rim and was infusing these trees with glorious light! It was a very nice morning!

I like how the road leads you right through the picture. The sun on the tree in the background is very warm. Nice shot.

Beautiful image Phillip. I like how the image starts out darker in the foreground and brings you into the light as your eyes follow the road. Very nice.

I like the way this invites you into the scene, and great color and light.

Wonderful fall scene Phillip! The road is a key element here.

Thanks for the comments!! It was still relatively dark along the road when I took this but a minute or two after this shot the sun started hitting the valley floor and the warm glow of the leaves was gone. I haven't sharpened this one very much because it was slightly misty/foggy and I like the more "dreamy" look for this image. Thanks for looking!

The glow on the trees is wonderful, Phillip, and the curve of the road leads the eye nicely into the image. Well done.

A most pleasant scene that invites the viewer in. The streaks of light in the foreground are just what is needed.

I love the light on those golden leaves in the BG.
I had to laugh when I got a look at the thumbnail and title. I made an attempt at a similar shot and while making it my thought was of the same title (song) . Mine however did not have this nice light or this good an outcome.

Very nice Philip. Everything about this image is inviting. I really want to go down that road! The angle of light and curve of the road draws me into the image.

I think what David Edwards said probably says it all in terms of a real-world critique. It makes the viewer feel like he can just step into the image and walk down the road. I am a bit intimidated trying to comment on your work Phillip, because it is so uniformly good. Love the light bars in the foreground which gives this (as another comment noted) the needed foreground interest. I also like the light at the curve, and the nice foliage colors. Until I read your explanation about the mist and sharpening, my first thougth was to ask if this was an HDR image. It has just a hint of that "painterly" look without the overdone look so many HDR images have in my view. Very nice capture.
