458-Powder Blue Evening

This was shot in the evening right after a major snow storm broke up. I used a long exposure to intentionally brighten it up considerably from the real scene as it was getting quite dark out. For those who live in Alaska, it was taken at 6:00 PM on January 19, 2007, so you'll have a pretty good idea just how dark it was. The darkness of the original scene is primarily the reason the blues were so strong. I could have made an attempt to color correct it somewhat but I kind of liked the blue. This particular version is slightly desaturated from other versions I have.

Sony DSC-R1, ISO-160, f8.0, 2.5sec

An awesome shot for sure! Lots of great detail and nice light. FWIW, im betting that i would slightly prefer this blue version to a B&W version....BUT, since the theme called for subdued colors, it might be cool to compare a more neutral version--all it takes is one eyedropper click

Cool (cold) shot, Gary.
I always find images made in available darkness very intriguing.
Well done!
