My contribution from the storm a couple of weeks ago. This one was taken from the other side of the channel from where Brian shot his image and on the second day of high winds along the lakeshore.

Pentax K10D, Sigma 28-300 @210mm, f9 @ 1/640, iso 200

C&C always welcome and appreciated

Toni, Awesome photo. Power of the lake can be seen so easily here. Love the way you timed this shot to freeze that wave. Photo also gives a sense of scale

I really like the the way the way you captured the water blowing over the breakwater.

Toni, I like the wave explosion presented here and the wind-blown mist over the breakwater. You really captured the power of the wind and waves very nicely. I have noticed from another photographer's images from the north side of the channel that the water was noticeably more silty there. It was a wild storm and the atmosphere at the pier was like a party, with hundreds of people on the beach watching Mother Nature in all her glory.

Thank you.

Brian...I've never noticed the difference in the amount of silt before, but I do believe you are right. Must be the wind direction determines that?

What a dynamic photo with clashing wave and diagonal composition of the pier. I also like translucency on portion the wave I would consider a tighter crop of the frame to emphasis power of the wave by removing part of RHS and top into a squarish format.
