Oakleaf Hydrangea

It was a beautiful, sunny day here today so I grabbed my gear and headed to the North Carolina Arboretum. There is always something of interest no matter what time of year. This image is a leaf from the "Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea." I love the colors of the leaves and the details on the veins.

Camera is a Nikon D70, close-up lens, tripod. On my Christmas wish list is a macro lens, but until then, I will continue to work with the close-up lens.

Comments and critiques are most appreciated.

Interesting image. IMHO it is too dark, and a bit soft. Also, if possible I would suggest more room around the leaf so it is not so crowded against the edges. Thanks for sharing.
