I know this comp isn't the best but I only had seconds to frame this and expose it before the light changed. I had rushed to drop my daughter off at her dance class then made a bee-line to the closest picturesque setting. Watching the light change as I was driving had me wishing the time change was next week. I tried several other comps that I think might be better but the light just wasn't there.

Dean,

The light is wonderful and so is your processing. Certainly the horizion is a little low (that's what happens when you have to rush), but I don't think it ruins the image. I definitely recommend cropping down on the blue top of the sky quite a bit. That should balance things out more too. Great job.

Great light/clouds. I agree about cropping some of the sky. I feel like this might have worked better by getting more reflected light into the water in the foreground and by eliminating some of the bare ground. Not sure if this was possible, of course.

This is nice. You were fairly successful considering the short amount of time you had. I agree with others about cropping. Perhaps a 4x5 ratio would do the trick.

What great light show and I think you did well to capture it in the time given. That fg pool works well to give the bottom just enough interest and balance. There's a nice triangle of interest created by that pool, sunset on the left edge and the orange clouds in the UR. I too would favor a more 4x5 ratio with a crop off the top. Well done!

Great shot Dean. The colors reflected in the water are fabulous. I like the cropped repost better, but would perhaps even crop another 3rd of the top to make it more intimate and hold the eye in the shot.

Great mood, Dean. Love the color interaction in sky and the warm light on the ground.

Definitely improves with the crop Dean. Wonderful light and I like the way it seems to explode from the ridge line.

The repost makes for a stronger image. Great sunrise, and you did well for rushing to get the best of it.
