Thanks for the comments on the first of this series. Always appreciated. This shot gets in a little closer and shows the tension is rising. I did desaturate the reds a little this time. I think perhaps being near the lungs of the wildebeest it is a very bright red. I have not done any saturaton in either and it was very bright.

IMHO this image has more dynamics! But, both are good. I like that this one has a female more involved. Thanks for sharing.

Spareribs for breakfast. Nice shot, shame about the heads of the males being attached to each other though.

This is a rather intense image of lion feeding behaviour Rick. The colors looks good to me, but I would brighten the entire image up just a bit. I quite like the composition, but wish the elbo of the standing male was included and that the face of the male in the center was visible.

Hi Rick,

Nice drama here! While some might argue this is a tad on the macabre side, I like the shot and never mind seeing images of animals doing what animals do! From a technical perspective I think the image is just a little too dark - simply brightening it up a little (probably 1/3 to 1/2 stop) would likely make quite a difference. If you choose to do this you MIGHT have to do a very minor global increase in contrast as well. Compositionally my only comment echoes what Marsel said - too bad that those two males heads are pressed together so tightly - a little separation here might have strengthened the image a little (but not a thing you could have done about this).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Brad

That female doesn't stand a chance! She is making it very clear to the male that it was she, or her sisters/mother who brought the wildebeest down and it is rightfully 'their' meal, but with the males muscling in, she can only bare her teeth in futile protest!

Those ribs look delicious! I like the merge of the males' faces and think you did well to capture the tension of the feeding. Agree that it could go a little lighter.
