Pillsbury Crossing
by Scott Bean
I took this photograph this morning at Pillsbury Crossing. These trees are downstream from the falls and normally have some color on them, but I've never seen them with this much color. I would have never gone out there this morning if I hadn't of had the chance to see some shots that another photographer took at Pillsbury last weekend at sunrise (thanks to Facebook for that!). I think this is the first time I've ever been at Pillsbury and not photographed the waterfalls.
Canon 40D, Canon 10-22mm@10mm, f20, 1.0 sec, ISO 100. Used a circular polarizer and selected a 'cloudy' white balance setting to help bring out some colors.

Good contrast with the blue and orange.
Leaning trees and reflections only add.

I like the strong leading line along the water-shore interface.
The strong color contrast between oragne and blues if very effective.
I wonder what this would look like with the branches in the upper right cloned out???
Nice stuff.
