Abstract Foliage

I normally do not see myself doing this "style" of imaging with my nature photography. However, on a recent trip to Maine, I thought it would be nice to play around just a bit. Personally, I'm not seeing it as something I'd enlarge and put on my wall, but would enjoy hearing your thoughts and comments. Thanks for looking.

I like it a lot Mitch. Not abstract enough to make me wonder what it is but very creative nonetheless and the colors are very nice. :toast:

Way to think outside the box, Mitch. :toast: I personally love the abstract quality along with the lush autumn colors. A very nice change of pace IMO.

I'm certainly not experienced with this style of abstraction either. Is this purely Photoshop, or was this achieved partially or totally in camera? One effect that seems to me to detract from the abstract nature of this composition is the double lines, especially on the green leaf on the left. I'll also mention what appears to be several dust spots along the top on the purple leaf.

I love it. The colors and the blur are lovely.

Nice, I think it's very cool. Is what things looked like right before you passed after seeing that big caterpillar?

Very cool, Mitch. Just enough detail to keep it from going totally abstract.

Interesting colors in this comp and its definately different. You never know what will happen if you keep pushing the envelope. I'm guessing a zoom ring blur. Nice abstract.

As a study in color abstraction, it doesn't get much better than this.

Works well! I'm not used to seeing pink/purple leaves, but it looks cool! :toast: :jump:

I like the different take on the intimate fall shot. Large and on the wall would work great, highly depending on the room  .
