I went out to shoot the sunrise but the beach was fogged in. I was just killing some time shooting fog shots when this surfer arrrived and I thought he made a good subject.

Somehow surfers are very photogenic, aren't they? This is a great shot and conveys the solitude-seeking surfer in his element. Well done!

nice comp and moody subject. I can't decide if a little more contrast would help it, or ruin the mood - something I might have played with just to see (and perhaps you already did   )

Thanks Guys for your comments.

Doug - Actually, I did boost contrast a bit as it was quite flat. This compromise seemed to work best in my eyes, but I guess that's something that's kind of subjective.

I love the B&W Bill. The comp is very nice too. I sort of wish that the surfer was looking out to sea to the right, rather than forward (in the frame).

Wonderful mood here Bill. I think the contrast is just right for conveying that.

The contrast is spot on for me with this one, too. Really matches the mood. The shot is just a work of art!

As a surfer, I can surely appreciate this. I'm not sure what this guy is thinking, though. Those conditions look pretty awful (great for a moody photo, though).
